POS and payments

POS systems and card terminals are the heart of the store, where every sale is recorded and paid for. StoreIQ helps you choose, install and connect tills, payments and self-checkout with shelf-edge pricing and stock, for retailers across Sweden.

POS and payments

Benefits for your store

  • A POS system chosen around how your store works
  • Card terminals linked directly to the till
  • Self-checkout that can help shorten queues
  • The same price at the till and on the shelf
  • Accurate stock levels in store and online
  • Installation without closing the store

Choose a POS system that fits how you work

A POS system for a convenience store has different requirements from one for a fashion boutique or a builders merchant. We look at how many tills you need, how products and prices are managed, whether you sell online and which reports you rely on. Based on that, we help you compare options and choose a solution that suits your business.

If you are changing POS system, we plan the transition carefully, migrating the product catalogue and testing before the switch. Installation happens outside opening hours so the store can open as usual on the new system. Staff are briefed before go-live, and we are available on site or remotely during the first days so questions and adjustments can be handled straight away.

Card terminals and payments

Card terminals and payments

Card terminals need to be fast and dependable, even when the store is busy. We install terminals at the tills and, where useful, mobile terminals for taking payment on the shop floor. The terminals are linked to the POS system so the amount is passed across automatically and staff do not have to key it in twice, which means quicker payments and fewer errors.

Payments depend on a secure, stable network. That is why we make sure tills and terminals sit on their own network, ideally with a 4G or 5G backup connection, so the store can keep taking payments if the fibre goes down. We also go through receipts, refunds and end-of-day routines to keep things simple for staff.

Self-checkout and self-scanning

Self-checkout gives customers a quick option for simple purchases and can shorten queues at staffed tills. Self-scanning, where customers scan items as they shop, is another option for grocery stores. We help you assess what suits your store, where stations should be placed and how they connect to the POS system, taking lighting and customer flow into account.

Self-checkout works best combined with video surveillance and well-thought-out routines for checks. We can install the complete solution and make sure it works together with your other technology, so staff can focus on helping customers. Stations are positioned so staff keep a good overview and customers find them easy to use.

Tills linked to shelf labels, stock and online

When the POS system is linked to electronic shelf labels, the price on the shelf changes automatically when it changes at the till. With a link to stock and your online shop, stock levels stay accurate across every channel. That reduces duplicate work and the errors that creep in when the same information has to be entered in several places, and makes promotions easier to run.

With a service agreement you have one contact for tills, terminals, network and other store technology. We help when problems arise, replace equipment and keep systems updated. Updates and larger changes are carried out outside opening hours, for single stores and for chains that want the same set-up across Sweden.

Frequently asked questions

Can you help us change POS system?

Yes. We review your needs, help you compare options and plan the switch. The product catalogue and settings are migrated and tested before go-live, and the changeover itself is done outside opening hours so the store can open as normal the next day.

Is self-checkout worth it for a smaller store?

It depends on customer flow, product range and how your staff work. In some smaller stores one or two stations can ease pressure on the till at peak times. We look at your situation and give you an honest view of whether it makes sense for your store.

Can the till be linked to electronic shelf labels?

Yes, and it is one of the most valuable connections. When a price changes in the POS or ERP system, the shelf label updates automatically. How the link is made depends on your system, which we go through during the site visit.

What happens if the internet goes down?

With a 4G or 5G backup connection, tills and card terminals can keep working even if the fibre fails. We recommend placing payments on a dedicated network with backup, so the store does not need to close its tills during an outage.

Is support for the tills included?

With a service agreement you get support for tills, terminals and network from one contact. We help by phone and remote assistance and visit when equipment needs replacing. Exactly what is included depends on the agreement you choose.
