DIY and hardware
Store technology for DIY and hardware stores
DIY and hardware stores have large floor areas, thousands of products and customers who want to find the right item quickly. StoreIQ supplies electronic shelf labels, networks, cameras and people counters that work together across the store, warehouse and yard. We install across Sweden, outside opening hours, and you have one contact for everything.
Challenges we often solve
Thousands of items over large areas
Screws, fittings, tools and building materials add up to a huge number of products spread over a large area. Swapping paper labels at every price change involves a lot of walking, and it is easy for a shelf to be forgotten.
Hard to find the right product
Customers and new staff often search for the right size or variant among many similar items. It slows down order picking and means customers sometimes leave without what they came for.
A network that covers the whole site
The store, warehouse and outdoor areas need a network that reaches everywhere. Handheld terminals, tills, labels and cameras all need a stable connection, and weak spots in coverage are felt immediately in daily operations.
High-value goods and open areas
Power tools and high-value materials, multiple entrances and exits and open storage areas make the site hard to oversee. The store needs to protect goods and staff beyond the shop floor itself.
Electronic shelf labels that help customers find the right item
With electronic shelf labels, prices are taken directly from your POS or ERP system and the shelf edge updates within minutes, however large the store. Staff no longer walk the aisles swapping paper labels at every price change. The labels can show unit prices and the previous lowest price based on the data in your system, simplifying price information during promotions.
A light on the label can flash to show where a product is located, speeding up order picking and click and collect and helping new staff find the right item. A QR code on the label can link to product sheets, assembly instructions or accessories. You can see the status of every label, even in large stores, in StoreIQ Hub.
Network and wifi for the store, warehouse and yard
Everything in a modern DIY store depends on the network: tills, card terminals, handheld terminals, labels and cameras. We plan and build a network and wifi that cover the store, warehouse and outdoor areas, with separate segments for tills, equipment and guests and a firewall. A 4G or 5G backup connection keeps the business running if the fibre goes down.
We also take care of computers, printers and support, so you do not have to keep track of several suppliers. With a service agreement we monitor the network and connected equipment and resolve issues remotely or on site. That gives a stable foundation for labels, tills and cameras across the whole site.
Cameras, alarms and people counters for the whole site
Cameras at entrances, tills, the warehouse and outdoor areas provide a better overview and a record when something needs following up. We help you position the cameras and advise on signage and retention periods under GDPR. Intruder alarms and access control protect the site when it is closed and manage who can enter where.
People counters at the entrances show how footfall varies over the day and week, without identifying anyone. This gives you data for staffing and opening hours, for example ahead of seasonal peaks. We start with a store visit, provide a proposal with a fixed price and install outside opening hours across Sweden.

Frequently asked questions
Do electronic labels work in large stores and warehouses?
Yes. The system is scaled with as many base stations as needed to cover the whole area. During the store visit we review the floor plan, shelving and warehouse and propose a solution that reaches every label. The status of each label can then be followed in StoreIQ Hub.
How does the light on the label help with picking?
When an order is being picked, the light on the label can flash next to the items included. Staff can see straight away where the product is, which speeds up picking and reduces the risk of mistakes, especially among many similar items and for staff who are new to the store.
Can you build wifi that also covers the warehouse and yard?
Yes. We plan the network around the whole site, including the warehouse and outdoor areas, and choose equipment suited to the environment. The network is segmented so that tills, equipment and guests are kept apart, and a 4G or 5G backup connection can be added.
Does the store need to close during installation?
No. We install outside opening hours, often in the evening or overnight, so the store can stay open as usual. Larger sites can be split into phases, and we go through the timeline with you in advance so staff know what will happen.
