Fashion and sports
Store technology for fashion and sports retailers
In fashion and sports retail, it is all about protecting stock, knowing what is in the stockroom and creating a shopping experience that draws customers in. StoreIQ supplies anti-theft gates, RFID, people counters and digital signage that work together. We install across Sweden, outside opening hours, with one contact for everything.
Challenges we often solve
Shrinkage on clothing and equipment
Garments, footwear and sports equipment are easy to carry away, and shrinkage hits margins directly. At the same time, the store wants an open and inviting space where customers can touch and try on products without barriers.
Time-consuming stocktaking
Many sizes, colours and styles make stocktaking slow. Inaccurate stock levels lead to lost sales when a customer asks for a size that the system says is available but nobody can find.
The same stock in store and online
Customers who reserve or order online expect the item to actually be there. Without reliable stock levels, click and collect and ship-from-store become hard to manage and customers end up disappointed.
The right staffing and the right message
Footfall varies widely between weekdays, weekends and sale periods. Without data it is difficult to staff correctly, and the shop window often needs a new message whenever collections and promotions change.
Anti-theft gates and security tags that suit your store design
Anti-theft gates at the entrance alert staff when an item leaves the store without being paid for. We supply gates, soft tags, hard tags and deactivation at the till, tailored to your entrance and your products. Discreet gates are available that blend in with the interior, so the store keeps an open feel and customers can handle products freely.
The gates can be combined with cameras at the entrance, giving staff better information when an alarm goes off. The number of alarms can be tracked in StoreIQ Hub, making it easier to spot patterns over time. We also help with signage and advise on GDPR when cameras are used in the store.
RFID for fast stocktaking and accurate stock levels
With RFID tags on products, staff read the stock in the whole store with a handheld reader instead of counting garment by garment. Stocktaking is much faster and can be done more often, giving more reliable stock levels. It also becomes easier to find a particular size or colour on the shop floor or in the stockroom when a customer asks.
When stock levels are accurate, it is easier to offer click and collect and show the right availability in your online shop. In many cases the RFID tag can also act as theft protection together with the gates. During the store visit we review which products and flows suit RFID and how it can connect to your existing systems.
People counters and digital signage that bring customers in
People counters at the entrance count visitors per hour without identifying anyone. Combined with sales data, you can see what share of visitors make a purchase, when the store is busiest and how to adjust staffing and opening hours. The data is particularly useful ahead of weekends, sales and collection launches.
With digital signage you show promotions and new arrivals on screens in the shop window, at the till and on the shop floor. Content is managed centrally for one or all stores and can be scheduled by time of day and day of the week. We install outside opening hours across Sweden, and with a service agreement you have one contact for all your technology.

Frequently asked questions
Which type of anti-theft gate suits a clothing store?
It depends on the width of the entrance, the interior and the products you sell. We work with both AM and RF systems and propose a solution after a store visit. Fashion stores often choose discreet gates that match the interior, combined with soft and hard tags for different garments.
How does RFID stocktaking work in practice?
Each product gets an RFID tag linked to the item. Staff walk through the store with a handheld reader that reads many tags at once, without products needing to be taken out. The result is compared with the stock levels in your system so that discrepancies show up straight away.
Does the people counter record who visits the store?
No. The people counter counts the number of visitors passing through the entrance and is used for footfall statistics. It is designed for anonymous counting without identifying individuals. The figures can be compared with sales to see the share of visitors who make a purchase.
Can we manage screens in several stores at once?
Yes. Screen content is managed from one place, and you choose whether a promotion runs in one store, a group of stores or the whole chain. Content can be scheduled by time and day of the week, and screens can switch off automatically after closing.
