Intruder alarm and access control

Intruder alarms and access control protect your store when it is closed and make it simple to control who can enter where and when. Staff open doors with a card or their phone, and you can see who disarmed the alarm. StoreIQ installs intruder alarms and access control for retailers across Sweden.

An intruder alarm designed around your store

A retail intruder alarm consists of a control panel, detectors for movement, doors and windows, and usually sirens and keypads. We go through the floor plan, stockroom, office and delivery doors, and propose a system that covers the areas with the highest risk without making the alarm awkward to use. An alarm that is easy to operate is also an alarm that gets used correctly.

The alarm can be connected to a monitoring centre that receives alerts and responds according to an agreed action plan. Your insurer may have specific requirements for the alarm, so it is sensible to check with them before installation. We include that information in the planning, which saves you from having to make changes afterwards.

Access control with cards or mobile keys

Access control with cards or mobile keys

Access control removes the need for physical keys that can be lost or copied. Staff use a card, fob or phone, and permissions are set by door, time and person. When someone leaves, you remove their access immediately without changing any locks. It works well for the main entrance, staff entrance, stockroom, office and cash room, and temporary access can be set up for contractors.

The system logs who opened which door and when. That gives better control over deliveries, cleaning and service visits, and makes it easier to follow up if something has happened. For chains, permissions can be managed centrally across all stores, so an area manager can access several locations while staff only have access to the store where they work.

Alarm and access control working together

When the intruder alarm and access control are linked, the alarm can disarm automatically when an authorised person opens the door in the morning, and arm again when the last person leaves. This reduces the risk of the alarm being forgotten and cuts down on false alarms caused by someone entering the wrong code, making life easier for both staff and managers.

Alarm status can be followed in StoreIQ Hub alongside cameras and the rest of your store technology. You can see in one place whether every store is armed after closing, and who armed or disarmed it. The system can also be linked to video surveillance so events are easier to follow up, with everything gathered in one view rather than several separate apps.

Installation and service

We install alarms, detectors, card readers and electric locks outside opening hours and test each part before handing over. Staff receive a walk-through of how to arm and disarm the system and what to do if the alarm goes off. You receive documentation of the installation and of the permissions that are set up, which makes it easy to keep track when staff change.

Under a service agreement we help with regular checks, changes to permissions and troubleshooting. You have one contact for alarms, access control and the rest of your store technology, whether you have a single store or many across Sweden. Permission changes can often be made remotely the same day, and larger changes are planned outside opening hours.

Frequently asked questions

Can the alarm be connected to a monitoring centre?

Yes, the intruder alarm can be connected to a monitoring centre that receives alerts and responds according to an action plan agreed with you. We explain how this works and what it means for your store when we prepare the proposal.

What does our insurer require from the alarm?

Requirements vary between insurers and depend on factors such as the type of business and the goods in the store. The best approach is to ask your insurer before installation. We take their requirements into account in the planning and design the system around them.

Can staff use their phone as a key?

Yes, many access control systems support mobile keys through an app, alongside cards and fobs. Access can be granted and removed instantly, and you decide which doors and times apply to each person.

Does access control work across several stores?

Yes. For chains, permissions can be managed centrally, so for example an area manager can enter several stores while staff only have access to their own. This makes it easier to stay organised when people move between locations.

Can you take over an existing alarm?

That depends on the alarm you have today and how it was installed. We review the existing equipment during the site visit and advise whether it can stay, be extended or should be replaced. You receive a clear proposal before any work begins.
